Train Your Money by Hillary Seiler is an excellent masterpiece for achieving financial success by reaching your goals. The author provides strategies to manage finances while saving for the future. She was an expert and drew insight from her own experiences, making financial concepts easier to understand and implement in our daily routine. She made budgeting simple, credit concepts easier, and helps to break life goals into steps that make them achievable. She also helps manage stress in difficult situations, job burnout, and handles the situation brilliantly. She teaches us an important lesson: success comes through strategic planning and mindset, not just by knowing numbers. Train Your Money is a personal-finance book that’s equal parts practical, energizing, and genuinely fun to read. Hillary Seiler writes the way a great coach talks, direct, supportive, and without a shred of judgment. What I like best about Train Your Money is that it’s so practical and judgment free. Hillary Seiler teaches financial behavior the way a coach might train athletes: concrete actions, real-world examples, not a whiff of fluff. I particularly loved the mindset exercises, that allowed the new process to feel less daunting. It is not often you come across a money guide that actually instills confidence as opposed to fear, but this one really does.
Train Your Money is a motivational guide that feels like having a financially savvy coach in your corner. Hillary Seiler’s style is refreshing (part tough love, part best-friend advice) and it works. Readers who feel overwhelmed by budgeting or investing will appreciate how she breaks things down into manageable, real-life steps. It’s about mindset and daily discipline, which she teaches using the same system she’s used with pro athletes. The tone is upbeat, direct, and empowering, perfect for people tired of financial jargon and gimmicks. Whether you’re starting your first job or leading a team, this book helps you build financial confidence from the ground up. Highly recommended for anyone serious about turning knowledge into action and gaining control of their money.
Idaho author Hillary Seiler earned her degree in Finance from Oregon State University, has served as a financial advisor to sports teams, universities and companies through her company Financial Footwork, and uses that background to offer substantial advice for managing finances to college students, young professionals, folks preparing for retirement, and everyone dealing with managing debt and building savings. How could you read this book and not feel completely excited, motivated, and eager to grow almost without limits? This book puts on paper the vast experience and expertise of a woman who is overwhelmingly opinionated and knowledgeable when it comes to finance. Best of all, the book is like a compendium of information, tips, and real tools for building a truly secure financial future. The book not only changed my financial perspective but also 100% of the habits I had when managing my resources and thinking about my investments. . I have encouraged my family to do two things: first, read the book, and second, start a preparation plan associated with all the recommendations.
This book helped me see money in a simpler and less stressful way. Sometimes we think that finances are complicated or only for experts, but the main message is that everyone can learn to manage their money better with small daily changes. I liked the idea that it is not about being perfect, but about being consistent and mindful. It also made me reflect on the importance of reviewing our spending habits and being honest with ourselves. I understood that money should not be a constant source of worry, but a tool to achieve our goals and live with more peace of mind. In the end, I was left with the feeling that it does not matter how you start, but that you decide to start, and that even the small steps we take can create real changes over time.
Regardless of your stage of working life, Seiler's "Train Your Money" is an excellent guide for developing and leveraging financial skills to increase your income and build a solid and stable financial foundation. The book is written in a simple and practical style, making it easy to understand and accessible to everyone, even those without financial expertise. As you read, you'll learn how to create a financial plan tailored to your individual needs and interests. A key aspect is its focus on providing strategies for improving communication about financial matters within the family, as the family is the primary environment where the foundations for the future are taught and learned.
This motivational and practical manual teaches us how to manage our finances in a clear and achievable way. This book uses a sports analogy to teach us how to manage our finances responsibly, with clear goals and solid actions. The author of this guide breaks down complex concepts into simple, easy-to-follow steps that anyone can understand, regardless of their level of knowledge. This guide provides real, lasting value through its focus on financial mindset and building healthy habits. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to regain control of their personal finances, as it is a clear, useful manual with an inspiring approach.
I absolutely loved this book. I don’t come from a strong financial background, and “Train Your Money” was the first finance book that actually felt easy to understand. Hilary breaks everything down in such a digestible, grounded way, and the real-life stories she shares make the concepts click instantly. One of my favorite things about Hilary’s approach is that she’s not trying to get you to adopt her lifestyle or follow some rigid system. It’s very “meet you where you’re at,” bite-sized, and so doable. The way she lays out saving, budgeting, and even the basics of investing is clear, direct, and actually feels achievable. As a business owner, the section on building a financial team blew my mind—I had no idea some of these roles even existed, and I’ve been running a business for almost a decade. It genuinely re-motivated me to take ownership of my money and my future. The book is quick, emotional in the best way, super organized, and one I know I’ll go back to again and again. If you’re starting a business, coming into money, or just wanting a solid, compassionate introduction to personal finance, I highly recommend this read.
Once I graduated college and started my career, I realized I had a lot to learn about managing my money. No one teaches us in school and everyone is always so scared to talk about it! I found Hillary on Instagram and started my financial learning journey. Train Your Money was super insightful and a great pairing with her other learning materials. I feel like I have a much clearer vision (and actionable steps) to being smart with my money. Thanks Hillary!
You can tell the author grew up with money conversations at the dinner table, and she brings that same clear, direct tone to every chapter. The author has this way of explaining things that makes it feel like you’re talking to a friend who genuinely wants to help. The exercises at the end of each chapter actually helped
This is a terrific book on personal finance.Concise, clear and very well written, "Train Your Money" is the perfect read for someone new to money management and applicable even for those more experiences for some new perspectives and reinforcing the tried and true too.The author advises a number of professional athletes and teams and I enjoyed how she would weave sports analogies into her examples. As with being successful in sports, to train your money right, discipline is key.I particularly appreciated how she framed and asked personal point of view questions then laid out clear examples of how to approach the pitfalls that everyone faces with the many aspects of finances. On that note, I am gifting a copy to my young adult children as there’s great advice here and it will reinforce some of “dad’s” own suggestions that I’ve provided over the years. It also explains things, like how credit scores work, fraud prevention and the subject that baffles me the most, tax strategies for beginners, much better than I ever could too.The book also offers a number of worksheets and links to dive deeper or download additional information and tools or “playbooks” as well. Finally, the standout section for me personally was the excellent chapter on family money discussions. With aging parents, among other things going on in my life, I found the structure and advice to approaching both routine and sensitive matters around family and money conversations extremely helpful. There’s a lot of books on personal finance available. If you’re looking for a solid, concise, clear and enjoyable read, I highly recommend this one.
